Gifts of Preparedness

Emergency preparedness gifts from Emergency Essentials

Consider giving gifts of preparedness to help someone start their 72 hour kit, short term or long term food storage.

  1. Give gifts from Emergency Essentials. Whistles, Emergency Blankets, Hot Hands and Matches are very inexpensive gifts.

  2. "Food Storage of the Month" Give a family member one #10 can or other inexpensive food storage item each month of the coming year.

  3. Give a juice jug, PETE container or just a #10 can filled with dry wheat and attach this quote by Brigham Young.

"The time will come that gold will hold no
comparison in value to a bushel of wheat."

  4. "Dinner in a Bag". Give a complete pantry meal in a bag or pretty container. A pantry meal is a meal that can be made with only items found in your pantry (no fresh or perishable ingredients). The meal pictured is TVP Tacos and includes: spaghetti, 1 jar of spaghetti sauce, 1 can of chicken broth, 2 cups of TVP and the recipe. I've included a little poem that explains that this is the start of their 90 days of convience/pantry meals.

    120 Days of Pantry Meals

A gift for you, one of your meals,
One day is done, what a deal!
29 more is all you need,
The Prophets counsel, you can heed.
Repeat these meals 2 more times
Now you have your 3 month’s supply!

The recipe and poem are downloadable here.
